It is called the speed limit not the speed requirement for a reason.

What do you think "L parking" is? Do you mean reverse parallel parking? Yes you have to be able to do it.ĭo not drive above the speed limit. You're a new driver - do not rely on your situational awareness to tell you that "it's completely empty and safe to move" or you'll end up killing a motorcyclist. You don't have to wait five seconds but you do have to indicate and recheck that you're clear to move before you change lanes. Also, hit enter twice after every line or it turns into one big blob of text. Sorry if there are a lot of questions!! I don't have many resources and I'm literally been on every thread online about the test. I'm having a hard time differentiating between what type of driving is considered pass-worthy for the RTA standard, and just normal regular driving :( I'm also concerned because based on a lot of recounts it seems like the RTA instructors are really out there to penalise you for small things and there seems to be a lot of inconsistencies between marking. Should I make it more conspicous or just be vocal on what I'm doing in general in the test? How do you 'scan' the road? I'm saying this because I normally move my eyes to scan.

You know when you're first at the intersections and you need to go right, is it OK to edge yourself over the line in preparation to turn - or is it considered obstructing the pedestrian crossing? Should you come to a complete stop at a pedestraian crossing, even if there are no pedestrians in sight? My dad installed a GPS and a second rear view mirror (for him to teach me) should I remove it when I take the test?

Is it an fail if you for 1-2 points above or below the speed limit? This is my primary worry since I'm pretty bad at being at a constant speed for a while. I've cleansed this sub for any pointers and I just have a few questions:ĭo I have to wait 5 seconds when changing lanes even if there are no cars behind me and it's completely empty and safe to move?ĭo you really have to indicate left when leaving a roundabout? Even if it's a small roundabout and you're going straight?ĭo they test you on L parking? I know you have to drive in to the RTA in those L parking squares but I've been getting mixed answers on a lot of people. I'm a reasonable driver, and have done more than 120 hours + I also had some instructors too. I'm doing my test at Botany RTA so if anyone has any tips for those routes please do!! I didn't tell many of my friends I'm going for the test, henceforth I couldn't really ask about their experiences on their test at the same RTA. Hello! I have my P's driving test in a couple of days and I'd be lying if I said I was not nervous/anxious about it.
